Zoopla Energy Estimates

Hi all,
Does anyone know how accurate the energy/ water estimates are on Zoopla?
I'm looking at moving early next year and want to start calculating my budget etc now. It would be good to have a rough idea of how much to budget for these.
Thanks,
K

Zoopla estimates are as good at EPC ratings - worthless!
What's the house age/size/construction/location/occupation/etcetera? If in doubt, assume the worst, and hope for the best.0 -

Ah ok thanks. We've only just started looking so not too sure on specifics yet.
Will be 1-2 bed flat in south West London. Hopefully gas CH and double glazed. We will both be out of the house 8am-6.30pm weekdays.Save 12K in 2017 #023 = £1345/ £6000 (22.41%)

To be fair to them, they are on a complete hiding to nothing attempting an energy cost estimate, given the variabilities already mentioned by Grenage above, you can add
Which supplier - probably the biggest variable of the lot.
What the weather has been like over the year - last year was a very mild winter, can skew the stats for consumption.
Eg our direct debit for the last four years has varied between £140 back in 2013, got as high as £152 before dropping back to £129 over 2014 and £128 for 2015. We changed supplier this April and got the debit down to £80, which they recently dropped to £75. If the winter is chilly, I expect a reassessment upwards in April 2017.
Given that lot, the Zoopla estimate of £101 looks pretty sensible.0 -
Budget £100 a month for gas and electric, which should be enough for your average dwelling of that size. It's dependant on so many variables - not least how warm you like your home.
For examples, our old terraced 3-bedroom cost £46 a month for gas and electric - it was well insulated and terraced.
My friend has a modern 4-bed semi, and it costs him £42 a month.
Our new 1905 home has an estimated running cost of £150 a month.0 -
