hi,
I hold a full car license since 1994.. and i did my CBT and passed my motorcycle theory text earlier this year as i want to take my full bike test next year.
however since that time i have changed my name by deed poll. i contacted DVLA who issued a new full car license for me in my new name with a new driver number.
So my CBT and motorcycle theory test certificate is in my old name and old driver number.
do have to get a theory test certificate re-issued in my new name? How can i have the CBT, Theory and new name license linked somehow, so i can book on for my full motorcycle practical test. I emailed DVSA but no response:(
thanks

I am a motorcycle examiner and if you turned up for test with all your documentation to support your name change and all the relevant docs for taking a Mod 2 test then I would let the test go ahead.
I have had this scenario before, admittedly it was a divorcee reverting back to her maiden name but the test went ahead.
If you are still worried pop into your local driving test centre and speak to the LDTM (local driving test manager) or the resident bike examiner.0 -
hi, thanks for your response.
i think that's true for showing up with my cbt cert but the problem is that I have to book my mod1/2 online via the gov.uk website. so i cannot actualy book my practical test at all - because it says i have no theory cert !!
i phoned dvsa, they told me i have to contact dvla. so i phoned dvla and they told me i have to contact DVSA !!!
at this point i am seriously considering just re-taking my theory test! it's so frustrating.0 -
Why not book it in the name on your Theory Test certificate? Then follow my advise?0
