Faulty goods returns.

Two months ago i bought a DVD box-set from HMV, it consists of over 30 discs.
So I've been slowly watching my way thru them, & started noticing a few faults on various discs , ( i played them on 3 different players ). so i took it back to the shop & told them, & said i'd like a refund or a voucher of the same amount to spend in store, as i wasn't happy with the product.
they took the box-set out the back of the shop for 5 minutes, came back & said they had checked every disc & couldn't find any faults whatsoever, & so refused me a refund or voucher & basically that was that !. i asked the shop assistant if they had a a special machine that enabled them to check thru over 100 hours of film over 30 discs in 5 minutes !, & he said yes, is this actually true ?, also what can i do now ?, am i stuck with a faulty box-set that cost me £100 ?
If anyone can help or advise i would be very grateful, i certainly don't think much of HMV's customer satisfaction policy !

Can you remember where some of the faults were apparent?
If so, it might be worth playing some of the disks at these points and recording it on a mobile phone or tablet then going back to the store.
If you can't record it, just make a note of exactly when some of the faults appear and take this to the store and ask them to watch the disk and to fast forward to the points where you know there is a fault.
One thing to bear in mind is that if they agree that there is a problem then they don't have to refund you in cash or a voucher.
If they wish then they can give you a replacement item.0 -
Within the first 6 months the onus is on the retailer to prove the item isn't faulty due to customer neglect. That being said it sounds like they just tested the start of the disc. Maybe point them to the time code that you get the fault at in each of the different players.0

I don't understand the OP.
You purchased a dvd player with a 30 disc set, however some were faulty, but instead of replacement discs of the same box set, you wanted a refund or voucher, so that you could buy a different box set? is this correct?0 -
Is there an element of "buyer remorse" here, in that the box set isn't as good as they anticipated?
This doesn't mean there's no fault, I'm just trying to ascertain why OP wants a refund/credit rather than a replacement.0 -

Looks that way. Watch an entire series with a few annoying interruptions then replace it for a new one.0
