What's is the usual subject of your WEM

Just wondering if the subject of your WEM is usually "congrats" or along those lines? Only asking as I delete most of the emails I get which are just the newsletters, but should I be reading every single in just in case?

My last one for some books simply said 'It's you' probably would have opened it anyway but because it was from a personal account with someones name rather than an actual companies name it made me more aware.0

One from last week was in the style of "Re: Eggs Competition" so could have been anything and the body of the e-mail didn't have "congratulations" in it either.
I delete once a prize is received but from memory some are much more obscure than others and you could easily miss out if you just rely on the title0 -
Thanks, it's so hard when there are so many junk emails haha and.with the amount you get each day (not including wowcher erghhh)
Am.going to briefly look at every one now just in caseGood things come to those who wait!0 -
Here are some examples of a few WEM subjects I have received in past few months:
- Star Trek : Sky Cinema : Hey U Guys - winner
- Congratulations! You're an August Winner
- Congratulations you have won a prize with Look Magazine Competitions
- Congratulations - you're a Shell fuel winner!
- Console Deals Runner-up
- TNT Competition - You've Won!
I would say 95% of WEMs come from an individual (eg. "joe.bloggs@magazine.co.uk") but occasionally they just come from "Company Name". I can normally tell by now whether the email is worth opening... if it has a subject such as "October Competition" I will always open it just in case, likewise those "Have You Won" or "Our Winner Is..." even though it's almost certain it's not me!!
Most emails I get are obvious mailing list type ones that have subjects like "25% off today only" or "hurry, ends midnight" so they just get binned without opening!0 -
It definitely varies. Some say winner, congratulations, re: (comp name) competition, good news, potential winner. Thanks to all posters :A0

It could be 'Wibble' - there's no easy way to spot them.0

Had my first WEM today!! The Subject was: "Winner of the Ritual's Advent Calendar"
I usually give all my new emails a quick glance before deleting xxLucky wins - Rituals Beauty Advent Calendar; Starbucks Coffee & £20 Gift Card; Amazing Hen Weekend at Dunblane Hydro; Heat Magazine Book Bundle; Le Crueset Goodies :j
Wishing everyone some magic fairy pixie dust for luck!0 -
When you get 400/500 emails per day there is just no time to open each one, so I do tend to quickly check just the Subject and a brief look at the details if available eg in Hotmail. Always have the dark suspicion I've missed a win, though. Most wins do give you a clue, either coming from a personal account or in the Subject (like Congrats) but just won a Flickering Myth comp which was from Flickering Myth and only had 'stigmata' as the title. Also, when I opened it (it was different from most spam), Hotmail said they couldn't verify the sender. However, seems to be true so I'm happy. You do tend to get a feel for an email which is not obviously spam (10% off...) or phishing (you have received an e-card...) and is a bit different, even if it doesn't say Congratulations, you are the winner of....0

I've long since given up opening every email. I'm sure I've missed a few here and there, but I've also saved umpteen hours of my time!
I search for 'congratulations' and 'winner' and check those, then I usually organize them by sender so I can delete groups without checking too closely. Most emails that start with 'newsletter@' or 'no-reply@' aren't wems but I scan the subject just in case.0
