I paid off our mortgage in July (paid the house off in 5 years 11 months, aimed for before I turned 40, Im 37 wayhey) Once the mortgage is discharged nobody has any claim to your house. It can pose problems in selling or inheritance in the event of death. I paid £90 + vat to the lawyer GRRRR but they store the deeds in thier safe at no cost to me.. Suppose they get the business when we decide to move house.Every day above ground is a good day.0
