Towel radiator question (s!)

Hi everyone
We have been given some money by the MIL to sort our bathroom out as it's in dire need of it. Last time she visited we'd done nothing at all with her dough, so we're trying to get cracking and get it finished before she visits again..
We're after getting a towel radiator, but dh will be fitting it - he's good with most DIY things, but admits plumbing isn't his forte, as he's not had to do much of it. As far as the radiators themselves, I'm not sure which will be best - curved, flat, etc...We're on a very tight budget and so we're after as cheap a one as we can get.
I understand that some can just be used with gch, some can be part and part electric, I'm not sure where to start.
Can anyone shed any light on this for us? We have a small bathroom, the radiator we removed was a standard one. All advice re fitting and best buys would be welcomed!
Many thanks
Lucy

Lucy somebody asked a similar question yesterday. I have attached the link

I have a tall (get more towels on), curved (easier to drap towels over) stainless steel (goes with other bathroom fittings) one plummed into the GCH.
I love them.0 -
wickes seem to sell reasonably priced ones, although i have only seen in brochure and 'not in the flesh',they look ok0

That's exactly what I wanted to know, thanks! :T
There seems to be so many different ones, and we need to get it right as we have very little money/space.
I'll have a look at Wickes, too, thanks for that! I'm hoping they're easy to fit - our house makes even the easiest task difficult as nothing was done properly in the first place, iyswim  You want to paint a wall, then the plaster starts crumbling, etc, etc..
All character building. Thanks again for your help!

Please remember, they look great but don't give off much heat - especially with towels draed over them.
We've ended up with both a radiator & a towel radiator in our bathroom to keep it nice & cosy0 -
Thats why we got a tall one. Ours is nearly 5 foot high.0

Do you also have a radiator? As has been said, they don't give off much heat. You'll need to calculate the number of BTUs required to heat a room. White ones give off more heat than the chrome ones...0

Like I said I have a tall one.
I like the house like Miami (honestly) & ours is lovely.
But its not like it will be the only rad on is it, all the other ones are on at the same time.0 -
Hi there we had a dual fuel element fitted which is really handy in summer if you don't want to put the central heating on but the bathroom is a bit nippy and you like nice warm towels. You just switch over to electric and adjust the thermostat accordingly0

Don't forget to shop around for the valves! Whilst a lot of the big stores can't be beaten on price, they up the price on the valves to compensate!0
