Didn't I read somewhere that you don't need to be a student yourself to get the discount. As long as you have a student in the family, you can get it, but it was something that Microsoft didn't publicise?
Don't quote me on this though. :):)

Not sure about that (selfishly was only looking if I was eligible, which I am "technically"), but anyone is free to look at the site:

I'm not sure if your above statement is what applies to the "Academic" versions of office. Whereas this is the retail version as far as Microsoft are concerned.

  • I think Phantom Flan Flinger is refering to the Office Teacher and Student Edition which retails at about £40 or so cheaper than the full version but it misses a few things from the top of my head I dont think it has Publisher and maybe Access but can't remember exactly (definitely not Publisher anyway).

I think you used to have to have a student card but I dont think anywhere checks anymore/they'd relaxed the rules. But it reataisl between £90-£120 I think, comapred to about £130-£150 for the full version (roughly).

The £40 offer you have to be registered an at academic institution and have an ac.uk address. And provide microsoft with a proof if they require or you are liable to pay the full £599 RRP price.

Been looking forward to trying out Onenote as well since that wasn't included in Office 2003 pro.
