asked before but...37,000?

HI
I know I asked this a number of months ago re: investing money. So I wanted to put forth my current situation and ask your opinions again.

So I have 37,000 pounds sitting in my bank account earning a few pennies a month. I have another 13 grand in an ISA.

I am current renting and moved to a new area that I love and have a new job.
Due to Brexit I am undecided if now it the time to buy. However I want to be in a position to take the opportunity if the market drops or I find a bargin.
So I am looking for a saving account with a decent interest where if I want to I can easilt access the money.
Any suggestions please?
Finally can I have more than one current account? Noted previously one member suggested Sandander at 6%.

Many thanks
E

Of course you can have as many current accounts as you want - but Santander @ 6% a new one on me !!
Santander 123 currently pays 3% - to be reduced to 1.5% in a few days time ...

That indecision has already cost you around 20%.
However I want to be in a position to take the opportunity if the market drops or I find a bargin.

It is not if. It is when. However, when is always unknown. Will it go up another 20% before it goes down 15%?

You can have more than one current account.

Santander offers 1.5% not 6% and there is the monthly fee to consider.

If you need DDs, a couple of savings accounts ( Internet and instant access) from Tesco can do the trick.

To clarify BoS and tesco currently offer 3% on up to £21000 in total.

Tesco savers also only pay circa 1% depending on bonuses, it's the current account that pays 3%.

Think you may have misinterpreted, the OP is in cash and potentially looking to buy a property in the near future.

Your response looks like it refers to equities and potentially the sterling exchange rate issues.

What's your research thrown up so far...so we don't waste our time suggesting something you've already discounted?...or which has already been given to you in July.

But checking your previous thread from July, I see that all the accounts suggested there are still available, although interest rates on many of them are dropping over the next two months or so.

    thanks everyone.
Has a look at some online accs and Tesco. I was unsure about having more than one current account. Sandander noted reducing its interest to 1.5%.
Thanks everyone think I will seek more info re tesco and see how we go.

having had another look at current accounts again. All only pay 3 to 5% on the first 3,000. So I would have to open up several essentially.
Tesco seems to be the only one where you do not have to have DD coming out. I will have to get savvy at this!
