And whenever you are prompted for any update from AVAST , look very carefully for the FREE option, they always try make it the less obvious option. so as to push you towards the PAID option0 -
it depends how you installed it, if you registered it immediately, and did a custom install to avoid the extra's
(file/web/email shields are the essentials)
, it should be quiet for 12 months. Further popups can be disabled in the settings
Thanks. I followed esuhl's advice back in early November and believe I selected file and web shield and probably email and deselected the rest but it seems I didn't get screen shot of that page).0
