  • Morning, (((((((hugs))))))))) if you need one. My little clock did not change as it should have last night, it's still showing an hour fast.

We are off on a visit today, the organic garden at Ryton near Coventry is open for free!!! So we are going over. OH might get some ideas re- enforced there. He seems to think I am talking out of my hat at times.

Time to get up, shower, dress, fill flasks and fill rolls....cheers.
  • Good afternoon everyone!

I didn't notice the extra hour today, woke up really early and couldn't get back to sleep so I did some meditation practice from my library book, Full Catastrophe Living. It's very interesting so far and it's really motivating me to get back into mindfulness to help with stress and pain.

I'm at work today so hopefully won't be spending anything - I brought a packed lunch (jacket potato, veggie burger and leftover broccoli). I'm allowed to take my break at 2pm so I'll stick my lunchbox in the staff microwave so I can have it hot. The microwave here is one I've never seen before - it doesn't have a turntable. Perhaps it isn't even a microwave? I haven't noticed a difference in how the food gets hot, but I put it bang smack in the centre of a microwave, whether it turns or not...

Slowly57 That candle sounds amazing, I can imagine it now, unblocking my stuffy nose and making me feel nice and cosy!

Hope everyone is having a lovely 'day of rest' so far! It seems crisp and clear today so my walk home should be scenic :)

I have so much I need to get done today:
    • Make a nut loaf for the freezer (I slice it then freeze)
    • Make gooseberry crumble
    • Steam-clean my bath-lift
    • Clean the rest of the bathroom (probably with the steam cleaner, while we're dogless)
    • Sort out the cheese order for the farmers market
    • Get to grips with making the rest of the Yule cards we need
    • Clean out the kitchen compost caddy (yuk)
    • Make veggie toad-in-the-hole for dins
I've already done 2 x WM loads, and Mr LW is currently ironing the hankies I washed yesterday.

What are my chances of getting it all done - or am I heading for a sledge-hammering lupus crash? I still can't get the hand of pacing myself.

Cuddles and tummy-rubs for Evie and any other doggies who'd like them. :o And a special horse-cuddle for Bill. :D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Hello from the dull and gloomy West midlands.

I got up at the usual time, 4 and then realised that it wasn't, it was 3. By then I'd got a cup of tea so pootered about aimlessly for a bit. Was then greeted by slightly inebriated son and definitely drunk friend returning from a party, friend went to bed in spare room without removing his Halloween !!!!! makeup and has now gone home in a taxi still wearing it. I expect the spare bed us also wearing it but have not gone up to look.

OH is going to have to do reverse burgle out to unbung the kitchen drain, until then I am holding off on the washing. I have to do some, I need clean stuff. I am trying to avoid nagging I mean reminding him. Not a nice job.

Dinner will be roast beef and so forth. I want to make a cake but am holding off on that too until the unbunging has happened.

Need a wee but son is now infesting the bathroom.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

Gers I love the idea of bare root roses for all the females in the family. Do you have a supplier that would deliver to multiple locations?

I'm using this one for the lovely new Mary Berry roses which have a high scent factor and lovely creamy petals. I've not tried a multiple location order, just ordering each one at a time, though I have no doubt that you can ring them and ask. They seem very customer friendly.

I've bought myself the Girl Guiding centenary rose as it can be grown in a container and are bright red. The back garden here is not too good for full sun but the front is south facing so I have high hopes!

Well, Dr Strange made for compelling watching. He's like an uber- Dr Who with huge amounts of CGI. I enjoyed it very much though would be at a loss to explain the storyline coherently. Great fun.

Right, OH is making one of his appearances soon so must crack open the wine to help me through it. I'm moving on...

    Hope all's well with folk.

Can also recommend Mindfulness: A practical guide to finding peace in a frantic world by Prof. Mark Williams which comes with a free CD of guided meditations.

The candle is fab - like a cross between jam-making and wine-making - very Autumnal. Plus it's a Woodwick, so it sounds like a crackling log (I buy them as special treats!).

Middle dd came round yesterday and we had a shopping trip for her as she is away for two weeks on business , each week in a very different location and temperature.

She stayed over and we had a nice catch up , tv viewing session etc and she left with a frozen home made ready meal to have tonight. The store cupboard tomato soup seems to have gone down really well so worth trying again.

As my feet swelled so much in the hot retail centre that I could hardly hobble she talked me into ordering a pair of ankle boots a half size bigger and extra wide in the Hotter last chance sale.

Apart from things for Christmas presents I am trying not to do shopping unless I absolutely have to. Buying new blinds, a fire for the conservatory and two pairs of variofocals have made a big dent in October's money.

    Gers

The roses sound lovely and I am glad you enjoyed Dr. Strange. I was going to see it on Friday but could not make it.

    Hugs to all
