Replacing radiater with a heated towel rail.

Hi folks,
Is there any sort of guidelines that we could follow to get the equivalent heat from an existing radiator (when we refit bathroom a heated towel rail is part of the offer)
we would have to probably remove the single small radiator to allow room for the towel rail unless there is a way to put the towel rail directly above the radiator?
Its just that a google search has brought up a thread on here where it states that the rail is no way as efficient at warming the room as a rad.
Putting it directly above the rad might be ok, provided if there is a way to plumb it off the town rad feeds?
Thanks for any help

I replaced a bathroom radiator with a towel rail from b&q and my bathroom is just as warm , if not warmer, than it ever was! The towel rail I got is a tall one. My bathroom is only about 8ft x8ft.
I know nothing about heat outputs and all that but I am very happy with it.
A rail over a radiator would not look very nice.0 -
We have one of these:
https://www.victorianplumbing.co.uk/traditional-savoy-chrome-heated-towel-rail-mty022?campaign=googlebase&gclid=CLupo-j9gdACFe0Q0wodpYoP3A
You get good heat output from radiator and the towel rail is heated as well.0 -
There are lots of radiator calculators about like this one http://www.bestheating.com/btu-calculator
When you get a radiator or towel rail it will state its BTU.0 -
You don't need to guess.
The towel rail will have a figure in kW or BTU for its heat output. If you check the design and dimensions of your existing radiator you can compare against current models to estimate it's heat output. Compare the two to see how much of of a drop it would be.0
