It's an Eurolock, it's very very easy to change the barrel and will cost between £10 and £20.

It's a DIY job involving one or two screws, just make sure you buy the same size barrel eg so it does not jut out past the door frame.

I recommend you / they buy an "Anti bump lock", if you want to see why, go on youtube and search for "Bumping euro lock".

The tenant is entitled to change the lock providing they replace the original barrel (If that's what you want) at the end of the tenancy
  • Let them change the lock & give you a key I don't see any issues
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Many thanks for quick detailed reply.

After google search , I found this webpage with youtube video .

Please suggest me best lock type.

Note----Tenants do not want to change lock themself. They want me to change the lock. I am thinking what is the best kind of lock?

The lock you have, with an anti bump cyclinder is the best. Make sure you get one with a British Standard kite mark on. Something like this: http://www.yale.co.uk/en/yale/couk/productsdb/cylinders/AS-Series-1-Star-Euro-Profile-Cylinder/
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Does the lock work? They can change it themselves, I don't think it's your responsibility
  • All you need to change that lock is the correct length lock, a Phillips screwdriver & the existing key, it's held in with one screw & if it takes you more than 2 mins to change it then you aren't trying hard enough
