Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish reaction. Alternatives?

Experienced cystic spots (big and painful) mostly along jawline that have left scars. Was okay with C&P for a couple of months until possibly opening a new tube.

Wondered if maybe after prolonged use cream cleansers are simply too rich for my skin.

Anyone else come across the same? Was it down to the Liz Earle brand (I hear formulae has changed) and have you found an alternative that works?

Yes the formula has changed a few times. You will notice the cheaper ingredients are now top of the list and the natural ones moved down. They also do these limited edition versions with extra ingredients.

M&S, Boots do own brand versions. I like the Elemis one I have mild rosacea and it does not annoy my skin but its more expensive. Liz Earle I stopped using ages ago as it made my rosacea flair up. If you are removing properly cream cleansers should not upset your skin. But you will need to be careful as particular ingredient which is in others might cause problems.

Did you regularly get the cystic acne prior to the C&P as well?
  • Possibly more expensive but Aurelia miracle cleanser is very similar consistency and smell to Liz Earle but sells itself as probiotic and bio organic

Superdrug do two versions, both I like and M.S.E are often on offer. Naturally Radiant or Vitamin E Hot cloth cleanser.
Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.
  • The Supedrug ones are brilliant, I've got a Lz Earle one but I bought my daughter the Superdrug Vitamin E one & it's just as good if not better.

Some people prefer the Supedrug Natural Radiance one - personal preference as to which. They are often on offer.
  • Another vote for the Superdrug Vitamin E one here, it's great.

another vote here too, I use a lot of the Superdrug vit E range every bit as good.
  • Not at all MSE, but I love the Emma Hardie cleansing balm - can sometimes get good deals on it in M&S. Tons of positive reviews for it online and it smells divine.

The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter is a balm that you wipe off with a hot cloth.

I bought it as a substitute for the much more expensive Clinique Take The Day Off, and it's great.

I think it was about £10.
  • There has been a recall on Liz Earle 200ml Cleanse and Polish by QVC- batch P6147D (on crimp of tube) as there is a potential for baterial contamination.
