Correspondence between SFE and Uni's

Hi,
I am a 29 year old mature student who has always lived in the UK. However, I was temporarily absent from the UK for almost 2 years in the past 3.
This absence was due to travel/ temp work/marriage and I successfully appealed a decision by my future uni to charge me international fees.
Although I built a strong case for my absence, due to the length of the absence I was quite surprised that they changed my fee status to home fees.
The uni certainly took some lenience on me which I'm sure student finance won't. I am concerned that if I now apply to student finance and they deny me funding, they will then inform my future uni; and possibly cause them to change their mind.
Do student finance contact uni's with regards to their decision? I can almost afford uni using my savings and loans from family if I am charged home fees. However, if they revert back to wanting to charge me international fees I don't stand a chance.

No. You'd be the only one to get the letter advising if they've deemed you ineligible, if that was to happen.
SFE will have rules set by the government, whereas your university is a business and can use it's own discretion.
I used to be Starrystarrynight on MSE, before a log in technical glitch!0
