Things to do in Benidorm (area)?

I'm going to Benidorm for a week soon and don't want to sit by a pool (like the other 3 will). Is there anything I can do/see during the day? I don't mind a bus/train ride.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hi
I have been to Benidorm many times my Mum and Dad both live there, so I hope some of these suggestions are helpful:
1. Terra Mitika -Theme Park, situated about 10 mins drive from Benidorm, its cheaper to go after 3pm (I think) it is quite good ans shouldn't be too bust this time of year.
2. Terra Natura -This is a small water park and zoo/walking safari in one. I have been twice and really enjoyed it.
3. The Old Town shops 'walking street' is lovely in the evening.
4. Strole along the promenard some very interesting shows after dark;)
5. Mundomar - A kid of sea life centre only outdoors, quite good especially for children and right next door is Aqualandia. This is a bigger water park.
6. La Marina shopping complex, quite nice to wander aroung and pick up some bargains.
7. Guadalest is a little further out havent got details, sorry. Its a big dam!
If you post whether or not you have a car I can get more info for you.
And I can also recommend places to eat, you can do it so inexpensively in Benidorm.
Have fun, my Dad said the weather was beautiful there today still in the 30's.0 -
Clair, many thanks for the reply. I won't be hiring a car (don't think so) so it will be a bus ride only.
Eating out guide would be handy. We are staying in the Nereo hotel.0 -
All of the above bar Guadalest are accesable on bus. They run frequently from the town. Benidorm is split into two Levante Beach and Pniente Beach basically the old and new town.
The Dove Park as it is known is in the old town and most bus services run from here. I recommend hopping on a bus to La Cala, this is a bay just over the rocks, it is very nice and there are some lovely restaurants. My particular favourite is an Italian on the far side about fourth in from the end 'O Sol Mio'(forgotton name, sorry) it does a good set menu for approx 10 euros with wine included. Also try Queens in the old town it is very camp and friendly and the food is wonderful, entertainment again is interesting!
My Dad recommends the Dutch Restaurant in the old town called Hofvan Holland, also Two Palms these are both in the old town just of the 'Walking Street'.0 -
you can get a bus trip to Guadalest which is very interesting. there are beautiful buildings and a museum. The bus trip is not too long and you get to see some of the great arable countryside of Murcia. (BTW if the tour guide asks the English word for Medlar is Medlar)

Went to see her earlier in the year. She is a must. God it makes your squirm with your legs crossed. She is a must if you havn't seen her before. You will find her advertised outside bars when she is on.
You will alo be able to get freebies trips to lots of places but they usually try and sell something, but they are sometimes good for a day out.
Murcia is lovely for shopping but might be a bit far away for you.
Once you get there you will find lots to do.0
