Switching via Cheap Energy Club - how long does it take

Options
I am thinking of switching via the Cheap Energy Club. Previously I have switched directly with the supplier but there is a cash back offer via the club. Does it take longer to switch via the club than directly as my current deal ends on 30 November. Is it likely to be completed within that time frame?

OP - it takes about an extra day at the most. CEC just passes on your switch request to your chosen supplier. It can then take up to 35 days (the Licence obligation) to transfer your supply. That said, most suppliers are now signed up to a 17 day transfer (14 days 'cooling off' period plus 3 days.) target.

Getting your Cashback via CEC can take up to 3 months.

Back in September I switched to the combined deal suggested by MSE to buy both gas and electricity from British Gas. I've now spent several weeks submitting and re submitting readings with them claiming they haven't had them. Customer services created a new logon for me because it wouldn't accept my email address as years ago I'd had an account on that address so it wouldn't accept a new one. I phoned figures in, put them in directly on site, emailed them to customer services at their request, but still they claim to have had nothing. I'm so fed up with them I wish I'd not changed but as we're out of the 14 day cool off period I'm stuck with them. No thanks to MSE. I will be taking the recommendations with a hearty pinch of salt in future.

I had the same experience with BG, I think it is BG and not the MSE energy club. Took them 4 months to change my supplier. Complained endlessly, got some compensation, but didn't need the hassle
