Snoring cat

My beautiful Sansa is 15 years old soon. She's happy and healthy, always hungry, plays like a kitten, comes and goes as she pleases and seems fine. But recently she has started snoring, though it sounds more like wheezing.
Do cats snore as they get older or could there be an underlying problem? She doesn't like being in the car so don't want to rush her to the vet for no reason.
Thanks.
J.

She may hava a respiratory tract infection.
My pickle and Tom have always snored but if it's new they really need to be seen (I know the stress it causes tomcat hates it)0 -
My cavaliers have always snored (try a quartet at 2am), but recently I took Joly (13) to the vets with an eye infection. He had been sneezing a lot and had a slightly snotty nose, so the vet prescribed some antibiotics in case he had a respiratory infection, too (and he had, because it cleared up).
However, I have just found that either our washing liquid or fabric conditioner make him sneeze, too.0 -
My two are both 13 and snore like troopers! Always best to get them checked out, but probably nothing to worry aboutWhat goes around comes around.....I hope!0

Hubby reckons it's a competition to see who keeps him awake more - me or the beagle0

Thank you all. It's not a new thing - she's been doing it for a year or so now and it's always when she is fully asleep. But I'll get her looked at anyway. Can't harm.
I think she, my husband and the dog like to compete to see who can keep me awake the longest. Can hear the dog snoring from downstairs! If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.0
