New bathroom - should I not use before painting walls?

Options
We have had a completely new en-suite installed - walls re-plastered and new shower/toilet/sink installed

Should we use the shower etc before we paint the freshly plastered walls? My wife is concerned that the moisture/condensation will soak into the plaster if it is not covered by a bathroom paint. Is she correct?

(I'm only thinking of the arrangement for a week or so - I'd not want to pain if we have anything wrong with the new suite and need to get the plumber/plasterer back to fix anything)

If it is new plaster, it has to dry out before painting. If you use the shower/bath, you will increase the drying time.
