New credit card interest rate

I'm just after a little advice please.

I have a credit card for back up emergencies which I needed for something personal.

It says APR is 34.9% and interest is also 34.9%.

But as it's my first time using, I don't know how repayments work?

I need to withdraw 600. Does this mean every month my interest is 34.9% extra a month or is it 34.9% overall for the 600 which is paid back with the monthly payments?

  • its 34.9% per year, so somewhere between 2.5% and 3% per month

If you withdraw cash on a credit card there is usually a 3% one off fee, on top of the interest, which starts to get charged straight away (no interest free period on cash withdrawals). Also, most cards charge you higher interest on cash withdrawals than on purchases.
getting cash from the credit card is an expensive business but i guess it is better than a payday loan.
