holiday was from the 20th to the 27th October this year. Complained to TC.

Here is a newspaper article from when we were away:

They discharged him from the hospital after ONE night when he had kidney failure ? And then he flew home ? Really ?

    Hi,

Just returned from a weeks all inclusive holiday with Thomas Cook. Unfortunately there was a sickness bug going round and 4 members (6 in total) of the family became ill, we reported this to the reps and they did nothing.

What actions did you expect the reps to take that they failed to do?

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

They could at least have had the decency to be sick themselves!

    They could have operated !

I used to handle medical repatriation of holidaymakers for insurance companies. It would be very unusual for someone hospitalised with kidney failure to be able to fly the next day . In most cases a fitness to fly certificate wouldn't be issued for at least 48 hours unless the insurance company had arranged for a medically qualified escort so there's clearly more to this case than meets the eye.

What they were probably told was that there was a danger of kidney failure if the dehydration continued. Hence an overnight stay while they rehydrate him.

But you can't beat a bit of paraphrasing for sensationalism.
