how do i replace the door seal on my washer?

Hi all

The door seal on my washing machine got a hole in it (general wear and tear). Thought I'd be a good little money saver and fix it myself.

Got the old one off fine, bought a new one for a reasonable price but I can't get it on the drum!

It goes on the front of the washer easily but can't attach it to the drum (can't get the spring thing that holds it on to strech far enough)!

Am I just crap?!

Unfortunately, I don't know how to get the front off my washer eihter, but as always, SuperMum has come to the rescue by offering to pay to have it fixed...she's great! (Plus she won't have to do my washing for much longer) hehe!
