Refund on bespoke furniture

Pine can be very orange. It's a natural product and that's what it does. Our pine floor boards are very orange at the moment and long overdue a sand down and stain. Our pine kitchen table is a sort of golden colour and looks quite good. I'm willing to bet that your mums's partner's table will be going a lovely shade of orange before you know it.
Unless the bench has a thick shiny and nasty layer of varnish then the blue jeans will stain it because wood is very porous. Jeans dye can stain anything and I know my latest pair had a warning on the label about it.0 -

Why would you expect a refund BEFORE sending it back?0 -
Because he's refusing to refund us at all, and I don't trust him.0

But why would he trust you to return the table after he has refunded you? It is normal to return and then get a refund. The seller would be very foolish to do it any other way.0

It's also very unusual to send out an expensive item without getting all the payment prior to delivery. I wonder why the seller did that as it puts him in a weak position.0

He still expects full payment of the item (even though I've told him I'm sending it back), and I expect a form of refund before I do send it back. If not, I'm £480 down, plus another £100 postage, and I get nothing.
Refunds can only be requested AFTER an item has been returned. It is perfectly acceptable for them to refuse to refund if you have not returned the item.hannahlmoore wrote: »And for people jumping down my throat on the denim thing, this is only a minor issue as part of the big problem here. Regardless of the bench having blue stains now, the item is not what I asked for. But I will add that I stressed I wanted it treated to avoid stains and someone sitting on a bench in standard clothing is hardly an unusual occurrence.
No one is jumping down your throat.
It is certainly NOT minor. You have damaged an item.
If it is not what you have asked for, then you have the right to return it, but as you have now damaged it with blue dye, this will need deducting from the refund.
If it was not what you ordered, then why use it???? No one should have been sitting on it if it was to be returned, hence you are responsible for the damage.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
