I have a Eufy robot which I recommend. Die soon I am not keen on as they don't cope well with pet hair. My mother swears by her need a bigger boat option. We have a super powerful pre motor restrictions 'me lay' pet that I like but the bags are expensive. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

The Need a Bigger Boat option has been ordered Redo so fingers crossed your Mum’s take on things is right! 😆
Beanie I’ve had YouGov on the go for years and cashed it out a couple of times but their surveys so often seem to take an age and because it takes so long to reach the cash out level it feels as though you’re working for nothing IMO.As said above the new vacuum is ordered - sounds like they are flying out with the MSE code too so glad we made the decision and took the plunge when we did. It’s a lot of money for something to pick up dust so it flipping well best be effective! 😂
Pulled pork buns for tea were fabulous - I did a layer of cheese below the pork, then dribbled some of the well reduced cooking liquid over and topped with a couple of pickled cucumber slices - ‘the wedges went lovely and crispy and the whole thing was pronounced lush by MrEH, apparently I need to do that again! Handy too as I plan to - next week! 🤣
As well as ordering the bigger boat vacuum cleaner I’ve also found a flooring company to contact to see if they can quote for the hallway - we’ll probably email him over the weekend to see when he can come round and look. He also does carpets so if we get on ok with him for the hallway then he may work to use when we get the front room carpet done as well. Once the flooring is done we can see if Steve is happy to come back and complete the final bits, although I’ll probably try to ensure that we use him for stuff where the brother in law doesn’t need to be on the job too - not too sure I trust him in the house after the tap incident. In the name of getting a niggling job sorted I have also cleared the ‘dumping ground’ area that is always full of stuff in the kitchen - my hope is that if MrEH’s coffee machine ends up there he might be less inclined to leave post and stuff in front of it…we’ll see! anyway, for now it’s clear.Talking of clear, the holiday spends are paid off the CC as well - MrEH owes me a little bit back but he’ll sort that tomorrow.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Another thing I like about our new triangular-finned appliance, @EH, is that it comes apart in the middle. This is so that it can be used as a handheld for cleaning stairs, upholstery, etc, but also means that we can fit it under the worktop in our tiny utility for storage. Our old vacuum was too tall. We had a separate handheld gizmo which Mr F used for cleaning the car interior which will shortly be off to the charity shop which takes electricals.
The headlights on the front of the new cleaner reveal a shocking amount of dust! I know that's the intention, but it really does illuminate all the little areas where it used to be too much faff to keep endlessly fitting the Dys*n tools on to deal with it. We are very happy with our purchase so far & hopefully you will be too.

Ahh yes the head lights!!! The floor under the table in my old house, the size of the dust bunnies!!!! I'd also recommend getting a spare filter and pre filter so you can have one washed and one in use.

I think our current machine started out with a headlight…the bulb went in that inside the first few uses though…thank goodness! 😂
I’ll have a look at the filters L - although I confess as a rule I’m unlikely to vacuum again in the time it will take the first one to dry so it may well not be an issue for us! 🫣🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Aargh - we’ll do much for going to the gym this morning - I’ve spent since 10am trying to get some sense out of EDF on the WhatsApp chat THEY instigated to switch the electricity. Currently we’re going round in circles with the agent sending me repeated links to do the switch online, none of which work because of course they aren’t currently DOING online switching! 😩 Incredibly frustrating, not least as they keep suggesting I use live chat instead, when it was the live chat that transferred me to WhatsApp in the first place. It took 37 hours to even get a WhatsApp response from:an actual person so I’m determined to stick with it, but honesty I can’t see them actually doing anything before the non-negotiable time I have to go out later on.
Mr EH has been paid - I’ve transferred the surplus from last month to savings and the electricity money across to the buffer account (which annoying now has a balance JUST below a nice round figure!)
Meter readings to both GE and EDF this morning - both seemed to go through OK and I have an acknowledgment from GE but nothing yet from EDF (surprise!) I cashed out Prolific this morning at it’s grand total of £7.26 so will transfer that out of PayP@l at some stage. Got a nice chunky (quick!) Prolific study this morning which will add £3 to the coffers when it goes through.Update on EDF is that I finally decided to phone. A good effort at putting me off firstly “we’re only taking meter readings today” (except they’re not as their own automated switchboard system says all meter readings are being taken via the automated system) but eventually we got there - DD changed to whole amount monthly at the same time too. Fingers crossed it goes through smoothly - I’d like to say I didn’t have reservations but I can’t!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

When I got my boat one, the first time I used it I just pushed it across the floor about two metres and back again. When I looked in the dirt collecting bit I honestly thought it had been used before because there was so much in it.Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

I get the sneaking feeling ours will be like that too GAP - eek! It’s apparently being delivered lunchtime today so we’ll find out later!A lovely day yesterday at the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight end of season thing - although quite gusty wind thankfully everything was able to fly - the sun shine all day which was unexpected! (And made life interesting for photos as it meant we were shooting into it all day!) Lovely to catch up with a good few people I’d not seen in a while too including my pal Andy who also flew a beautiful display in his favourite Spitfire to round off the day. Fabulous!Got home just before 7pm so not too bad a journey back - even the usual traffic hot spot on the M11 was behaving itself which is a rarity. No plans to go anywhere much today - the weekly shop needs done so I’ll be finalising the meal plan and sorting a list as my next job I think then we can head out and get that sorted. Veg box turned up last night nice and early - with parsnips as our substituted item so we’re happy with that - we can always use a parsnip or four! Might try to come up with a salad idea using that chicory and see if I can incorporate some of the smoked salmon we brought back from holiday mind as that will feee up a teeny bit of freezer space. I’m going to work on the basis that the stew veg items from the box will run into next week easily enough so I can work those in then.(Photos: Andy in the Spitfire in hot pursuit of the Hurricane; classic BBMF 3-ship arriving over the hangar. )🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
