Don’t worry it will rain soon as in a couple of weeks we are taking our GK’s away in a caravan for a break. Mind you this weather is too hot at the moment. This Saturday I’m meeting up with friends for lunch that I’ve not seen for a few months. Then having one of the GK’s over for a sleepover. So looking forward to Sunday where I have no plans. The other week when it was the other heatwave we were away with our little dog, we couldn’t go or do anything as it was too hot for the dog. Xx

Ooh what a lovely lot of visitors! Thanks all for stopping by - my down-time weekend has started with a lovely relaxing day today - some minor bits of housework, one load of washing put away, another hung out and the next one to the machine - finally getting to the end of the beer festival stuff! Also some photos sorted out this afternoon while binge watching Derry Girls - I’ve heard so many good things about it and it didn’t disappoint - very good!

Decided that it was too hot to walk to Al’s to get anything for tea so raided the freezer - remembered we had burger buns, and I always have mince in there so big fat juicy HM burgers with finely chopped onions, topped with bacon and mozzarella cheese, plus chips. Very tasty indeed and all using stuff we already had so I’m pleased with that. Would have preferred not to have put the oven on but needs must. We do need to meal plan for next week though as we’ll need to shop tomorrow morning ideally - preferably before it gets too hot. It’ll be Al’s again too I think - seems little point in using the car if it can be avoided.

A little bit of financial wrangling this morning too - just sorting out what we currently have going to various savings pots, and the dates the payments go out on. Also opened another current account ready to switch to F1rst D1rect in due course - which will earn me the switching bonus and also access to their regular saver of course - I think I plan to use that one for stashing some of the money I’m due from Auntie D’s estate - I may as well get the best interest rate I can on it.  On our joint savings I rather think we have to be prepared for the possibility that the monthly amount saved might have to drop a little in the New Year to account for the increased fuel bills - we’ll see but it’s not impossible.

    Tea sounds delish.

I have the FD regular saver. No withdrawals allowed though so be mindful of that. Some of the other reg savers are kinder.

I have all the ingredients for your tea too. That sounds delish indeed.  How do you make the burgers? Just mince and onion then oven?

Not sure about EH but I mix mince and finely chopped onions and black pepper and shape into burger shapes and chill to firm up before cooking. Some people add a little egg or breadcrumbs to the mix (I've also added in really finely diced red pepper before)
