You have been busy. Nothing better than admiring space made 😆👍
I’m loving the mincemeat idea…..think I’ve got some knocking around in the cupboard so I might pinch that idea.January spends - £587.584 -
Well done on the garage declutter. I too would have to repeatedly return to admire the space if cleared and take before and after photos so I could repeatedly obsess about it
. Clearing /reducing the garage contents is a job for May for me when I'm off for a week at home. Glad the handyman visit went well.
Flapjacks sounds tasty. Have a great weekend.

Hello Milann - welcome back! I have a feeling I’m about to be responsible for a lot of leftover mincemeat getting used up! 😂 SH you’re welcome to joint the “MSE admiring own work club” - seems we’re far from alone! 😆
Well - this afternoon does seem to have been surprisingly productive! I wasn’t sure how much we’d get done to be fair, but MrEH was willing to set too with enthusiasm as well so:
- shopping got, £23.xx so a nice bargainous week and we’ll and triply under budget for the month.
- we walked to and from T’s for a bit of additional movement, including stopping for a good look for tadpoles in the pond - and good news, there are lots!
- 15 minute tidy in the spare room which also included finding two bags of stuff to be thrown away and most of another bag filled for the charity shop.
- a bookcase looked over and 4 books found for that charity shop bag
- the decking tiles back down on the balcony, some more tidying done out there too
- bird feeders filled and new fat balls put out for them too
- some research into the flooring we’re planning on using for the hallway
- a run through some of the other jobs we want to get done after the hallway is dealt with - we’re both on the same page about sorting some niggly stuff next
- washing up done
i’m pretty chuffed with that.Tomorrows tasks will involve a check over of the seed box and a trip to the garden centre I think. In fact, we might even do the seed box tonight while we’re feeling productive!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Excellent work! And yes, you are responsible for me just using up the last of our mincemeat (and some glacé cherries I found lurking and leaking stickiness into the baking cupboard 🙄) Should have followed a recipe though as my flapjacks don't have much in the way of structural integrity 😂 They taste nice though!3

It's the taste that counts @Cheery_Daff
Well done EH on getting so much done. I've mostly rested today. So good for me.

Y
That’s my dreamCheery - crumble them over some yogurt and call them granola! 🤣 That’s what MrEH said we’d do with ours if they fell apart, but actually they’ve stuck together pretty well.SH - resting is so important too, and even more recognising when rest is needed I think. I struggle with that bit still I confess - I try to make sure I get at least a couple of days a week without anything that could be categorised as “exercise” as such but it definitely doesn’t always happen, or so my Garmin tells me!Talking of resting, I’m not properly “up” yet, but the oven is on, and has cooked the chicken portions and made a start on the lamb - the lamb has a while to go yet though so it’s going to be joined by a rice pudding shortly then we can just blast that in the microwave tonight to heat it up. I’ve also drunk two cups of tea, decluttered a couple of slices of toast, AND made sure I was the one to cut the loaf so there are four more slices from it in the freezer now ready for next Friday morning. And while drinking the second cuppa I have eaten a frog (sounds like a tricky combination!) by sorting though my vast collection of nail varnishes. They’re a frog because I love nail varnish, but rarely end up actually using it because it invariably wears off my fingernails fast because of the sort of stuff I do. I do paint toenails but generally only in the summer.I went through a phase years ago of wearing it a LOT, and so also this meant I bought a lot of course. I’ve been through this morning, sorted into the stuff that had just gone gloopy and so could go immediately, then any colours I no longer felt were right for me joined those, and some where the level was very low or there was already another in a very similar shade. I’ve now reduced one small square box (with an open top so a total daffy dust-trap) and a round tin that was a freebie from Cl1n1que (Bonus Time, of course!) years ago down to just the tin - but the tin is only half full - so a definite win! I also currently have finger nails in 10 totally different colours so I should probably search out some NV remover before MrEH thinks I’m trying to start a new trend…🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Ha, love the toast decluttering 😁 and the nail varnish. I have quite a ludicrous, unused collection as well - but as it takes up an extremely minimal amount of space compared to all the other rubbish I'm currently tackling I'll leave it for now I think!
Might just try to declutter by using some of it up though!!
Flapjacks were a reasonable success - a little burned on the top, and most came out intact and are now in the freezer. There was a bowl full of crumbs - Mr Cheery appears to have eaten half after I went to bed last night 😂 and I ate the rest with the last of the yogurt this morning.2 -

The flapjacks sound good, I usually use mincemeat up on fruit cake which also works well.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
