Thought I'd bump this instead of starting a new thread...

Do tesco accept instantly? I applied for a current account, no overdraft and was then told they would process my application. Was expecting an instant decision. (everything is in order at CRA's)

I was accepted instantly for my second, but had to wait for my first. Got the impression they have yes, no and maybe - the maybes taking a bit of time to process.

Never had a text about further checks though.
  • I just got a text to say debit cards are on the way......wait about five days. So that will be about 20th.....about three weeks from start to finish.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

I just applied for a current account, they knew who I was because I already have savings accounts.
So it auto filled most of the boxes for me. Thought, that was easy - clicked continue . .

"An error has occurred, please phone us"

Maybe they just like talking to me :rotfl:

I guess the rules have changed on the Current Account, as when I set it up nearly 3 years ago, I did have to set up a monthly payment of £750.

Presumably I missed a change in the T&C's then, and this is no longer necessary?

Correct. But it's no bad thing, being as the account at least sees some transaction activity on a monthly basis (besides interest credit/removal). I've left my funding in place for this very reason.

I had the same thing when applying for my second account.

I've just got off the phone with them to complete the application, was expecting to be accepted but it has been referred. Frustrating :/

Same here. Clearly they don't really want the business.

That is "NO FEE", on top of the 0% interest for 24 months.

I got a similar deal, with £3,500 credit limit.
So, owe ~£3,200 on the credit card by balance transfer, and put £3,000 in the current account.

That's how it should be done. make TESCO pay interest on their own money. :money:

Don't forget the cashback - £29 via Quidco.

"0% interest on money transfers for the first 24 months. 3.94% money transfer fee."
So you'll pay 3.94% fee, not no fee.
