Hi,
I am a UK citizen and I lived in the Republic of Ireland for 5 yrs. During that time I was driving an Irish registered car that belonged to a charity that I worked for. The car was in the charities name but I was the main driver.
I accidently drove into the back of another car as they were waiting for a car to turn. I was driving less than 30mph but skidded in the wet. We exchanged insurance details and I notified the company insurer.
I never heard from the other parties insurance.
I am back in the UK and need to get insurance for my own car. Do I need to notify my new insurer of the accident that happened outside of the UK or is it only for accidents in the UK?
Thank you.

As the question is have you had any accidents then its related to worldwide is my understanding0

If the question they ask is "have you had any accidents, claims or losses in the past 5 years" then yes, because you have.
It may be that they are not interested if it was outside the UK, and no claim was made, but I doubt it, so you have to tell them and let them decide if it matters.
However, they would hardly ask "have you had any accidents claims or losses that we could find out about and use this to void your cover and recover any third party payout from you" would they?;)I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Thank you for the answers. I would prefer to be honest with them, as I would not like them to discover about it later.0

I think you probably meant " I would prefer to be honest with them, as I [STRIKE]would not like them to discover about it later.[/STRIKE] am an honest person.";)0
