vista updates

hi all
i have 2 pc,s running vista i reloaded vista on one off them, but after loading service pack 2, windows updates has been checking for 3 days and nothing, anybody else had this problem,

Check this link, I think support (i.e. updates) has stopped.

might be time to upgrade, i just thought i might be able to get the updates that are out already

well tried lots of things. nothing works, i have also tried to update 2nd pc and the same thing happens on that, i think they have turned vista updates off,

You should be able to get security updates until April 11 2017.

It's a common (and very annoying) problem. There doesn't seem to be one single reliable way to fix things, but you could try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter:

Or installing the latest version of Windows Update:

Do these PCs have brand names and model number by which they can be identified?

windows update can cause problems on visa(runaway process) I have turned it off.

will do my next manual update tomorrow.

I gave up on my father's vista laptop which was also failing to download updates. I installed Ubuntu Mate 16.04 LTS instead. No complaints from him so far.

i have tried to get the fixit, but its finished for vista it said,tried new update agent, the laptop is a toshiba, other pc is one i put together myself, many years ago, cheers
