Mmmm - GP you are so right about it being a soup day! It's a cold foggy day here - no tropical breezes have lost themselves in our neck of the woods!
Have taken out a single serve portion of lentil soup from the freezer & will have it with some of last night's leftover cheese scones - Brunch is set.
Another 'not at work day' for me, though I may have a look at work e-mails at some point this afternoon so that tomorrow does not hit like a wet fish in the face! More binge watching catch-up tv & tending to laundry & ironing. Cheeky OH said he'd not realized he had so many pairs of work trousers, which I'm guessing is man-speak for thank-you for doing the dreaded ironing!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Tell him he's lucky you bother RT - the only person to touch the iron in our house is MrEH!
Had to scroll back a page to find out where the bikini came in...definitely not that warm here! But yes, meant to be distinctly unseasonable tomorrow - 12 degrees C for goodness sake! Ludicrous - where's the snow for goodness sake?! :rotfl: The only "white weather" we have here currently is fog, but we have plenty of that!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Yes, we've not invented a new rule that you have to wear a bikini to peruse this thread EH; I'd be barred from me own thread if that was the case! :rotfl:
Well, seren-dipitty-doo-dah I bumped into not one, but TWO wonderfully inspirational ladies on the high street. I've known them both only for a relatively short-period of my life, but they transformed it (along with several others). I bought one a coffee, so an unexpected spend, but frankly, worth every penny; and t'other had to dash off as they were meeting someone else, so we only got to chat briefly. It has quite made my day though
Needless to say, I found on my return to the homestead that m1llets had e-mailed me to say that my item was in the shop for collection...... still, I'm glad that I didn't pop in the shop on spec, as I would have missed the second of my chance encounters......
I got the TV guide from the newsagents - and despite it being a double issue it was *only* a £1, so I saved 4p!I also bought some act1v1a yoghurt from h3ron - 2 x 450g pots for £1.
I addressed chrimbo card envelope cards this morning, I'd better make a start on filling out the insides this afternoon.

Nothing better than lovely people who light up your life.

Good Evening :hello:Nothing better than lovely people who light up your life.
Sure there was a song about you light up my life but cant think how sang it.
According to mrgoggle, Debbie Boone, Leanne Rimes and Whitney Houston sang a song called that. But I immediately (incorrectly) thought of John Denver's 'Annie's Song'.
Senses filled up, life lighted up - 'tas been a pretty spiffing day thus far
Tea was soup and it was nice, but it was past 8pm and we're both tired so....... Picture here;
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
wonderful people - I'm blessed to know a whole crowd, and they actually outnumber the numpties by at least 10:1.........
spontaneity - because time and the budget allowed
the internet and apps - because I've been able to follow up a meeting with a thank you and further conversation.........
Ta for popping by, reading and joining in. I am in awe of people that iron. I avoid it wherever possible, and it's always possible...... :rotfl:

Good Morning :hello:
Gosh, this week is whizzing. It'll be chrimbobs before we know it :eek:
I've got to go to m1llets today to pick up my item, so I'll be up the high street. I need some bananas too, so I'll duck into m&$.
I need to pop the written/addressed/stamped chrimbob cards in the post. And then get the next tranche sorted. It's not that I send out loads of cards, it's just that I like to write every one properly, so it takes time. I also make DH sign them, so have to do a few at a time......
Tea this evening is courtesy of Jack Monroe, and will be a version of Bean Goulash, minus the marmite loathe it but with yoghurt like itThe beans will be dried/cooked from stores, rather than baked beans, on this occasion. It'll be served with rice, as it is Wednesday
Baby Greying has fallen asleep on me, so I'll try and inch my way off to do a bit more......
Have a great day, we intend to
Edit: just looked up the mrL F & V offerings from Thurs 8/12, and they are; mixed peppers 500g, clementines 1kg, mushrooms (white, close cup) 350g and funsize pears 770g all for 59p each - where we are. I don't know how much their offers differ regionally, so may be different with you?

Ooh yum for the mushrooms and peppers. I was just saying in the mortgagefreeinthree forum that I need mushrooms for soup, made a lovely one last weekend and want to make sure it wasn't a one off.
Is it really bad that I need to go to the emporium of all things Swedish and I am more interested in Heron down the road? I've found a jack fultons too which I've always wanted to try.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Might make use of the Clementines then at the least, and very possibly the peppers as well. The 'Shrooms will depend on them being British, but I'll look there ahead of defaulting to T's. Cheers for that m'dear! My biggest challenge will be to stop myself buying more mangoes in Al's. well let's face it, I'm going to aren't I, some challenges simply aren't worth taking on! :rotfl:
LOVE Marmite here - sorry!
Christmas cards. Sigh. Yes. Need to think about those, I guess.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Ha ha - we went to the Swedish emporium a couple of months back - for the first time in aagggeeess. The parking was a nightmare - all the parent/child spaces gone first thing in the morning, on a weekday, 10 minutes after they had opened? and once inside the store, we could not find where to go. All I could think was, in the event of a fire............. I'd MUCH rather be in h3ron quite frankly!EssexHebridean wrote: »Might make use of the Clementines then at the least, and very possibly the peppers as well. There's an outside chance that the mushrooms may be british for that price.... The ones I bought in mrAl (750g for £1.39, I think) the other day were from LancashireI'll certainly look at the clementines, although the oranges in mrAl are rather spiffing
Well, I got my bits and pieces from the metropolis. Bumped into the non-gardening parental who'd come in on the bus, only been able to queue in the post office, amd m&$, and then it was time to get the bus home. I think the Chrimbobs rush may well have started in Greying Town........
There is a thread on here somewhere about bullet journals. I was struck in HB today by how many variations of notebook, plain, lined and categorised you could actually get now - and fair do's the ones in HB are relatively inexpensive. i got a 49p job for all my menu plans, copied recipes and whizz-bang-spiffy 'forts'
Right, leftovers for lunch, and they've my name written all over them
