I found discounted to clear in Home Bargains store, down to 99p for daffs, didn't check others as I only wanted daffsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Bumping this for 2018. I'm after dwarf tulips and daffs for baskets, as well as the standard sized plants. I know Lidl has got them in stock atm, but frankly I thought they were pricey. I bought a bag of 50 daffs from Asda for £3 and was pleased with the price. I think they do smaller bags of tulips (20?) for the same. Crocuses would be a bonus if I could find them!
I want to buy as many as possible and plant them everywhere I can in a few weeks time. Being bulbs, I won't have to do it again to enjoy the flowers every spring henceforth - will I?Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Just to say that I've answered my own question! I nipped Lidl for a pastry this morning and saw a new promotion on the plant gondola: bags of bulbs at £1.29 each, 5 for £5. So now I've got 60 tulip bulbs for a fiver!
Product code: 51325 - but beware, the promotion wasn't programmed into the till.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

On a recent trip to Morrisons I noticed that they had Hyancinth bulbs @ £2 for a bag of 7 bulbs. I reckon that's pretty good for Hyacinth. However, if you buy some I would check that the bulbs are a decent size, otherwise they may not flower or the flower could be a bit on the meagre side.0

For future reference - they've stopped stocking them now. But Aldi had very good value spring bulbs for sale in September. £1.49 and they had several varieties of tulips, daffodils, crocus, hyacinth, snowdrops and others.
Much cheaper than I'd seen in other places especially for the snowdrops as they tended to be pricier.Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)
