Good Morning all and another greyish looking day,but it started like this yesterday yet turned into quite a sunny day eventually. :)
We had a nice day out at Battle and sat and ate our picnic looking down at the battlefield where the french ran uphill to attack, talking about how daft it was to have a battle where the defenders were at the top and the attackers were at the bottom yet the defenders lost :):):).The boys got quite involved in the discussion and Jack wanted to know if he dug down deep enough would he find any bits left .After 950 years its a bit unlikely but who knows :) then we toddled into Hastings where they all had a fiver each to spend as they wanted to on the fair (didn't last long ,three rides and it was gone ):) but they enjoyed it and a nice walk along the front blew the cobwebs away.

DD is back at work today so its just the boys and I.My gardener is coming mid morning so I will have to nip back home for an hour with DGS Mikey then back to their house as my gardener is coming to Dds to tidy up the back garden after all the work he did a fortnight ago clearing it of undergrowth and a huge ivy bush.
Apart from that, not a lot going on today just generally pottering around at Dds .May get the boys baking some biscuits this afternoon it usually keeps them occupied.
Re fireworks, one of my DGS Jack loathes them and thinks kids that let them off are just daft and cruel.DDs dogs aren't keen either and DD usually gets a couple of tablets for them from the vets on bonfire night to calm them down. The little Jack Russell need lots of cuddles and reassurance when they are all going off, she is terrified of loud noises..

Hope everyone is having a good half term and the children are all not killing each other :)
Hugs to those who are not feeling well and those in a sad place

    Take care everyone

    Cheers JackieO xx
  • Morning,(((((((((( hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Up with the lark, we are going to Bingham to the library and Aldi for the monthly shop, its going to be expensive, I have not bought meat for a few months, so need to stock up a bit. I need to make sure we have enough to keep us going if we have the horrendous winter they are promising us.

I howled at the screen last night when miss pout like a trout won GBBO, I really would have loved to see either of the other two win, leaning slightly closer to Jane than Andrew.

Its fine and not too cold this morning, have the towels out on the line, they should dry.

Hester....I am so angry for you and your L & M, what goes on in your home is nothing to do with anyone but yourselves. Your L & M had had a lot to cope with this year, his position at work is not helping either..... I thought the world would come to an end when I had to retire, it hasn't happened, there have been times when I wondered if we would ever get on an even keel, but we have. I must admit our move to this bungalow has helped, we now pay half what we did in rent. I know your position will be different in that you will have to buy a property, I really hope that your house will sell and you find something that suits you both. You do an awful lot for your family, you deserve a better time for yourselves.
  • Good morning,

Yesterday was a nightmare. Had an arguement with my bosses boss which is never good. He suggested I wasn't getting work done and I argued otherwise with evidence of the amount of pro-active effort I'm putting in! The staff before I joined sat and waited on the phone ringing whereas I'm actively looking for business (as my immediate manager told me to)! Anyway, I'm rambling sorry. I'll continue working as hard as I always do and the results will soon prove that.

I worked a 15 hour shift yesterday as it was an event day so I'm a bit tired this morning but in nice and sharp as usual. After work I'll go to the gym for an hour or so then relax and catch up on the GBBO.

Moustache for now. Catch up later. Have a good day all.

How dispiriting for you SpekySquarehead. I think unless someone has got constructive criticism to offer they should just zip it. Everyone has their own way of doing - maybe you're just not doing it his way, and that is irritating/scaring him! Perhaps he was just having a bad day. It is awful how easily this stuff starts to spiral off. Don't take it personally - that way madness lies LMAO (been there, done that, got the t-shirt).

Hope it was better today and no :wall: moments!

I will be on the bus to Leeds too as I need an eye test done. Fingers crossed all goes well and you are not waiting too long.

I will be near asda so will pop in for a few bits and pieces especially ingredients for soups.

Someone mentioned the Boots no 7 advent gift and I managed to get a couple of them online yesterday for gifts and also some Benefit special offers for another DD so very pleased.:j

Just found out dds are looking forward to a special meal on Christmas eve and Boxing day as well as on Christmas day so looks as if I will be busy. If I get them to agree what they fancy that will be half the battle.

    Hugs to all

  • Once the fog burned off it turned into a nice day with a breeze so two loads of washing dried on the line.

My little dog hates fireworks, the bangy ones really get to him and goes absolutely mental, he also hates sirens and the smoke alarm :(
Currently he is lying at my feet, he doesn't leave my side all day, it can be a pain sometimes, but he is such a loveable little scamp :D
Speky, I would go on a go slow or better still go sick at the busiest time and let him see just how much you do............ but that is the rebel in me ;)

Hester  on your behalf, who does that woman think she is?

Went food shopping this morning and came home to sort all the bags of Christmas pressies and treats, Only two pressiesleft to get plus MIL's Garden vouchers to get and I am ready I even have the Turkey, Gammon, Beef and Lamb and the parsnips and brussels are prepped and in the freezer:D Just the cake to make next week

I would venture to suggest that Speky is doing a better job than the boss chappie would be able to do, and the boss chappie is well aware of this, and that's what's scaring him.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
