Moving to northern ireland

My partner & myself are moving back to Northern Ireland from England to be nearer to my family. My partner is disabled so we receive DLA,ESA,Housing Benefit & cat carers allowance can we just transfer benefits over to Northern Ireland when we move?

The system is operated on different computer systems between the two countries. It is a case of closing one and the calling to make a claim. Not sure if NI would be able to pull DLA/ESA claim and then reopen.

Surely not ? Made me smile though.

    I've helped Parliament
Housing Benefit will have to be a new claim. This is usually done by the Northen Ireland Housing Rxecutive here. It will be based on the rental payments and income you receive here.

You may be able to simply transfer DLA, best to ask them. Northern Ireland begins the translation to PIP from December 2016.

ESA will have to be done by your nearest job centre most likely.

They are both within the United Kingdom (the same Country).

Yes, welfare reform has not yet spread to NI, but claimants no longer have to close claims and intimate new ones when moving eg between Lpool and Belfast or vice versa.
Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.

OP answers the question pretty well.
