Smart parking fine

Hi new to this and needing some advise!
I received a parking ticket from smart parking as when purchasing my ticket in a rush I entered the wrong registration number! I had the ticket still in the car so I appealed the fine of £60 if paid within 10 days or £100 otherwise, with an email explaining that it was my error and a photo of the ticket I had purchased, I've received an email today stating they have rejected my appeal as it is my responsibility to enter the correct registration and therefore no ticket was assigned to my vehicle. Can anyone advise on this or have information on how I could further appeal it? I know it was my own fault but think it's a bit unfair considering I had the ticket as evidence.
Anyway any advise greatly appreciated!

The Newbies Sticky at the top of this forum will lay-out your remaining options for seeing them-off.
Have they given you a POPLA code with the rejection? If not you need to be getting one from them if you are in England or Wales.0 -
Oh we so wish you had come here before appealing and saying who was driving. these are a cinch to win at POPLA if you'd only followed forum advice and appealed as the registered keeper, using the template appeal in the NEWBIES thread. You were NEVER going to get this cancelled with that weak appeal and you have given away who parked - OUCH!!
But hey, it's only Smart Parking who have never sued anyone (at this point of writing).
You have thrown in the bin the slam-dunk winning appeal point a registered keeper appellant would have had and Smart would have scuttled straight back under their stone, so this is frustrating to read. Everyone wins v Smart here. Oh dear, never mind.
Not Scotland is it?
Oh well, assuming this was in England/Wales you will have to use the other appeal points for POPLA and if you lose, ignore them of course. This is not a real fine and like I said, they are not litigious (only take seriously court papers, you'd be the first!).
So, POPLA (assuming this is England/Wales) without being able to rely in 'no keeper liability' just leaves you:
- unclear signs
- no landowner authority
- the new one I've written a few times about the ostensibly innocuous instructions to 'input a VRN' not being a clear obligation, hiding the true 'commercial intent'. That hidden intent (to use any error to make money) breaches various consumer laws.
We can help you write this but the first thing to do is to complain to the landowner and/or retailers to get it cancelled by the weekend that way instead. So much easier, try that first.
You have 28 days to use a POPLA code so come back in 2 weeks if you have not succeeded with the complaint to the landowner/retailer (if it is a retail car park) about the unfairness of this enormous charge.
So frustrating - Smart are so easy to beat!! Next time, come here first!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
