goods delivered that shouldn't have been

Options
Basically I order some goods online and paid for them at time of order, they didn't get delivered when they were supposed to so after the 3rd non delivery I cancelled order and obtained a refund. The next day the goods were delivered and signed for by someone who wasn't aware of what had occurred, I have contacted the company and told them, they have been telling me for two weeks now that the goods will be collected the next day, but never are, where do I stand with the goods?

You have a duty to take reasonable care of their goods and make them available for collection. They have up to 6 years to chase you for their return (or their value).

Write to them, inform them that the goods are available for collection and give a list of dates you are available. Ask them to inform you on which date they have chosen in advance (so you dont need to sit in waiting every day). Advise them that if they do not collect the goods within x time (be reasonable - 2 weeks minimum imo and I'd say longer if the goods are small/smaller) you will have to dispose of the goods (if you sell them, the money belongs to the retailer and you need to get a fair market price so disposal is the less hassle option).

Or if its more convenient for you, ask for a prepaid label to take them to a collect+ point or the post office (and get proof of posting so you can prove you handed them over to their agent).
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
