After a lot of "reminding" by older dd , I finally made an optician's appointment for tomorrow morning.

Having a lazy morning and fibre filled cereal for breakfast. Lunch will be an omelette and dinner the cooked chicken in the fridge with mushrooms, onions etc.

I am waiting till November to start Christmas shopping as I have been paying for new blinds etc this month. DDs always complain that I can never tell them what I want so I went online and searched for my favourite authors and gave them a list to choose from. Younger dd's boyfriend works in a bookshop so they might be able to save a bit ;)

Older dd is coming to pick me up tonight for slimming club so I need to do a fast tidy and hoover before she arrives.

Special vibes for Lainey, LW, LWW and hilstep.

I found a recipe for a slimming tomato soup so have an order coming from approved food with lots of cans of tomatoes etc. The freezer has lots of special offers from musclefood so should be well prepared for meals.

    Hugs to all

    Hi All

After a drizzly start we've got the sun cracking the flags again, but very cold still.

Went into town earlier and watched the Xmas lights going up - instead of strewing white lights in the treetops, they've wound them round the main branches in the trees on the Town Hall Square - it looks SO pretty. Just had geese fly over the house honking like mad - I thought I was hearing things - they sound so funny.

Hope those who had tumbles/falls/colds/tummy bugs feel well now - and frightened doggies are settling down a bit. Sending hugs/positivity and xxxxx's to all who want them.

To those in a dark place, keep going - you can do this - but put a jumper on xx. Candles lit (roses today) for LWW and Lainey and anyone else who needs a bit of light.

    Have a beautiful Wednesday xx

Redruby I didn't get onto MSE yesterday, so I've just read back to see what happened to Evie; all I will say is that what I'd like to do with those kids and their fireworks isn't printable on a family-friendly forum.
Poor little girl; it'll take a while for her to get her confidence back - just go at her pace, and don't try and force it, particularly as there'll likely be a lot more of the dratted things around over the next couple of weeks.
I too would like to see them banned, save for organised, licensed displays.
Jack Spaniel sends Evie a cuddle and a lick. x

Evening - it's been a cloudy day here, a very low cloud base meant that it's been a white out for most of the time.

My marking is mostly done as is planning for tomorrow. Then I found a really useful app for my tablet which scans and emails documents which is brilliant. I've done loads today as there was a growing pile of paperwork under a cushion!

The rain has stopped but the cold wind is blowing around still. Not a nice day so I haven't been out at all, apart from collecting my new 'Mary Berry' rose from the barn where the courier left it - he didn't even knock on the door. I'll plant it out over the weekend once I get some rotted manure from the local stables.

I'll go upstairs in the next hour and watch GBBO in bed with a glass of wine. Nice end of the day.
