For anyone who has been to Malta, for the best weather/highest temperatures etc which is better (from experience); the 1st week of July or the 3rd week of September? Thanks.

It'll be hot in July, and very warm in September. But less or barely any humidity in September, so it'll be a lot more comfortable.
Me and the cook are flying out this Saturday for a month. Expecting it to be fairly warm, but cooling off from mid-afternoon. We'll have our brollies too.:)0 -
The sea will be warmer in September too, if that is important to you.0

Wunderground is an excellent weather website...

You can play about with it and bring weather history for whenever you want.0 -
I was in Malta in the first week of July this year. It was low-30s during the day so hot without being too unbearable (I give up at around 35C) and very pleasant in the evenings. It rained for about 5 minutes all week.0

I was in Malta 3rd. week in September this year.
It was still hot average 27c and there was one day of heavy rain.
To me July is unbearable, if you just want to lie on a sun bed all day then no problem but if you want to get about then it is too hot.If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.0 -

Ah yes, sorry - I forgot it was your suggestion that I go to Malta
I had a great time. My hotel was in St Julian's but had the chance to explore Valletta, Sliema and Bugibba thanks to the good bus service. Valletta was interesting enough during the day but I'm pleased I didn't stop there as it looked as if it would be pretty dead in the evenings. I really liked St Julian's but if I went back I think I'd base myself in Bugibba as it would be cheaper and a bit quieter.
Overall it was a nice change to the Costas in Spain - a bit more "grown up" and a lot more laid back. The food everywhere was excellent, especially the many Italian owned places and the bakeries which were open late into the night (watch out Gregg's - Maltese sausage rolls are much better)
The only annoyance was that it was just after the EU vote and I hadn't changed money in advance so I got stung on the exchange rate.
I'm off to Lanzarote next week for a more Costa-style holiday.0
