    Agree completely PinkRarr.

I was spotty into my 40s but now I'm in my 60s, nobody believes my age. Hooray - just wish the bones, tendons and muscles were in such good shape! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh yes, and I used to use Clearasil in my youth. In the end, decided soap and water was the best thing for me.
  • Freederm is brilliant for keeping spots away, and pure tea tree oil is brilliant for getting rid of spots full stop. you cant go wrong with tea tree oil, and its about £1 in superdrug and it lasts years!!!
  • got an e mail today saying no free samples available.

Wish I'd had spots when I was a teenager and looked like hell anyway... I thought I'd got away with it but I'm 29 now and they've finally caught up with me! Got so manky at one point I had to go on antibiotics. Not good.

Different things work for different people. I don't find Clearasil dries my skin, but it doesn't help much either, and neither did witch hazel. Freederm is horribly expensive and did no good at all. Toothpaste burned my skin, so that didn't look a lot better!

The cheapest way to disinfect your spots is with salt water. Salt will kill pretty much any organism, as it basically draws all the water out (remember osmosis?). Mix a little bit of salt with boiling water, wait til it cools a bit, then dab it onto spots with a cotton bud. Only put it on spots though, cos it will dry your skin if you stick it all over your face! Works on cold sores too. Yay!

Toothpaste on lovebites? Surely the only cure for those is the polo-neck jumper :-)
  • Brilliant, I use clearasil all the time. Hope it comes. Great find x

tea tree oil is the best, add a few drops (though can be used neat) into grapeseed or sweet almond oil (50ml), shake well apply to skin.

if you want to store it, add a vitamin e capsule- this also helps enormously to nourish the skin.

this recipe will both moisturise and help with spots/acne.

if you dont have any of these oils, good old sunflower oil with suffice, or add to your favourite moisturizer.

    ;)
  • I emailed Clearasil and got an email back saying that due to them being taken over by another company at the moment they aren't sending freebies. But, they were pleased to hear I liked their product.

  • When I have a bad spot week I swear by Fullers Earth and us it as a face pack or just on the spotty area.

    I get it here

You just make it up into a thick mud with water and apply to face and let dry.

    It works everytime for me
