Cleaning grease filter on kitchen extractor fan

Hi, any tips on more easily cleaning grease filter on kitchen extractor fan. Can they go in dishwasher? It is zanussi make. I will ask manufacturer when i can get through but in the meantime wanted to get some advice here.

It depends on what it's made of. Mine is just a metal grid, no foam or anything to get damaged, and the instructions actually say something to the effect of "for best results clean it in a dishwasher on the hottest setting".
If you Google the specific model number you'll more than likely be able to find the instruction manual which will tell you for certain whether it's dishwasher-safe.0 -

Dish washer.
Or you can soak it with biological washing powder with 40 degree water. i find that is better than washing up liquid. Use a brush.0 -
Our Ikea one says to hand wash or put in the dishwasher on the coolest setting.0
