Internal working of Rightmove

If I look at the 'Have a look at this thread' I see lots of houses, going back years, with links to Rightmove that still show all the property details. For example
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-36238851.html

But for an empty property that was on the market last week, all I can now see is the message 'This property has been removed by the agent.
It may be sold or temporarily removed from the market'

Is that just something that agents can choose to do and most simply remove the property without removing all details?
As far as I know the house is not under offer. Why would they remove the listing itself?

Finally is there any kind of Rightmove archive that would allow me to see the listing as it last was showing?

It's partly marketing for them - it shows that they have lots of properties on their books which is attractive to potential buyers and sellers.

It could also be that the property was being sold through multiple agents and that the other agent got the sale.

    They are there but hidden!

Sometimes you can find the old listings on the Sold Prices listings, but if it has been sold multiple times or if it's currently on the market then often you can only see the last or current details.

One way I have found is when I Save properties (I use the iPad app in fact) they are available forever from my iPad. So I have saved certain properties when I was searching some years ago and I can still see the original details.

So if you spot a property you're interested in then save it ASAP before it gets removed and you can access it later.

Sometimes there will be a property history on Zoopla. A property I once owned has the listing from each time I advertised it for rent and also when I listed it for sale.

I can go back to 2007 with my saved properties. Descriptions, floor plans etc are all there, as are the pictures, albeit fainter than originally.

They are like old friends now.
