Possible prob with my air extraction fan in my kitchen ?

Hi all.

There may be a possible prob with my air extraction fan in my kitchen ?

A supplier has installed my kitchen. Every time the air extraction fan above my cooker is started, I get a 'one click' noise when you start the fan and a 'two click' noise when you stop it.

The fitter has advised me that this is caused by an internal 'flap' within the fan to prevent air coming back into my kitchen.

The trouble is that when I went into the supplier's showroom today, I switched on a number of the fans and I got no 'clicks' whilst I tested them.

My friends and other family do no have any such probs with their extraction fans; although they are older than mine.

Anyone please advise as I am tempted to advise that the fan is not fit-for-purpose.

Thanks

Is yours vented to the outside? showroom fans are not. Are your friends and family extractors internal or external?

Is if not the covers on the external vent opening?
If it's extracting air you'll struggle to argue it's not fit for purpose!
What's the actual problem with it?

  • It is internal and not external.

My dad's is aso internal but makes no sound like mine.

The ones in the showroom are internal. Does this make a difference ?

    Thanks

many have inline flaps that open and close when operated with a plastic snapping noise, take the filters (grease and charcoal) out and operate it while looking inside, see if any flaps open. (Oh er misses) Does it vent to the outside rather than re-circulating?
