Here's one for you. I was using Lastpass password manager program when I stupidly uninstalled the program and only found out afterwards that I can reinstall it but not with the same master-password. So I lost all my passwords, including to MSE Forums.
Is there any way I can recover my password for here. I'm using a new login at present.
Also my enail is an fsmail one so I can't ask for a new password as also I have lost my password for Orange fsmail. Any help appreciated.
Now excuse me while I go hit myself on the head with a wall. :-)

Isn't there a 'forgot my password' option when you enter your old username which would email a reset to you?0

Have you tried just going to lastpass.com, clicking on the "Log In" link at the top-right of the page and entering your Lastpass username/password?0

Thanks, Chino and Chrisw. When Lastpass goes, the master password goes with it and if you need it after a disaster like mine or have to set up a totally new account. There's a way of backing up but, you guessed it. I knew better, lol. But thanks for your assists.0

You should explain in more detail what you did. Did you use the lastpass browser addon and then removed the addon later. This certainly does not delete your password safe at lastpass.com. You will still be able to login with the same email and password at lastpass.com or re-install lastpass and use the same credentials.
Or were you asked when you uninstalled lastpass to delete your lastpass account too? I haven't used lastpass for some time now and I can't remember whether you were able to delete the lastpass account when you uninstalled the browser addon.
Or did you use lastpass on a smartphone?0 -
Yes Tronator, I deleted it and clicked to delete all settings. I was rushing and didn't read the instructions properly so I couldn't reinstall Lastpass as it was as my Master ID no longer worked. I feel a right idiot but then again I always was impatient. I now have to open new accounts everywhere which isn't easy without my fsmail account.
Now I must go and lie down in a darkened room.
Thanks for your help0 -
If you use Firefox as your browser, there's a possibility it has remembered passwords - Tools - Options - Security - Saved Logins - Show Passwords.0

Unfortunately I use Chrome. But thanks for the input.0

You didn't just delete the Lastass app, you must have deleted your account, which is a different thing.
If you just uninstalled the app a reinstall would have been able to log in with your password. However, you say the master password was not working which is why you deleted or uninstalled it.
Deleting the account is not retrievable for obvious reasons. This cannot be done by accident. You would have to log into the online account and select 'Delete Account'Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Doesn't Chrome also remember passwords? You can see any saved passwords in settings, advanced settings, passwords and forms, manage passwords0
