I keep getting car insurance letters?

I apologise if I'm in the wrong forum, but I received a letter from Direct Line on Friday and I thought nothing of it, as accompanying it was was another junk letter from Provident that I get every so often saying I can get a £1000 loan with them.
Today, I got a letter from Churchill offering me a quote as well. Now I could understand if my insurance was coming up for renewal, although I only just got my first ever car insurance in August, so I'm not due until next August, which is a shame because the Churchill deal seemed really good, but obviously I'm not going to take out a quote when I'm only two months into my current policy..
Is there a reason I'm receiving so many quotes?

I still get reminders from companies i got random quotes with many years ago.
They obviously think its worth sending them to me, even after all this time.
Just get the occasional i wonder what that will cost to insure. Nowhere near my renewal date.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I keep putting them in the bin"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

I got calls from one of the garages that does broker style quotes (Kwik Fit or something like that) around my insurance renewal, the thing is every single time they were coming back with ludicrous quotes (well into 4 figures) and asking me if that was competitive - my renewal was about £300 before even haggling, they eventually gave up (seriously, 30+ years old, 10 years no claims and you think a quote of over £1000 is competitive?).
Next time you get quotes make sure you untick the "contact me" or tick the "do not contact me" boxSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Actually they go straight in the shredder, and then normally when I empty the shredder, it goes into the compost bin to rot down.. :rotfl:0 -

I normally do just tick to quote me via email only, and leave post, SMS and telephone calls unticked. My insurance is four figures because I'm 20 and only just have my car, though I did a quote last night for what it might be next year and it's dropped to about £700 providing I get a years no claims :eek:0 -
