UK CPS Ltd ticket received today 24/10/16

Hi all,
I've never had to use this part of the forum before as I've never had a parking ticket before and was gutted today to find I had one. Two parts to this I suppose.
Firstly after reading the Newbies sticky I checked the BPA and IPC lists and although UKCPS are on the IPC list, their AOS membership is 'currently inactive'. Do I still need to appeal or do anything if this is the case??
Secondly ...in my defense this is a small car park I have used a few times, we'd had a busy morning and tried in two other car parks to get a space (anyone who knows Lincoln will know they've shut half the roads and car parks in town so getting a space can be a pain!). Anyway, the main part was full but there were 3 spaces in the entrance to the car park, right next to the ticket machines, one was already taken so I parked in another and paid up for 2 hours.
Got back in time so was very surprised to find a ticket. On reading the reason for the ticket and on closer inspection of the white signs (which actually were only behind 2 of the 3 spaces, not the one I was in) that particular area, even though it's in the entrance to the CPM car park, is permit holders only. The white signs look exactly the same as the ones placed around the car park, although I would imagine they have different writing as the rest is ticketed not permit. I have taken some photographs of the white permit sign, where I was parked etc, pay and display ticket in the windscreen (they could clearly see I'd paid to park and I imagine they would have realised my error in assuming that I was parked in the pay and display part).
There is no clear signage to say this very small area is separate to the main car park. As I said I was right next to the ticket machines!
I have a raging headache and am struggling to work out form the info on here what my next move is. Any advice would be greatly received thank you

Thank you! I thought that might be the case but as I have no idea how it all works I thought it was prudent to check in the best place I knowExtra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000

Just to be clear to other NEWBIES the advice is IGNORE because it is UKCPS who are currently suspended so cannot get data to write to anyone. And they will not be able to pick data up retrospectively later, even if reinstated (we know that from previous bans).
Do not muddle UKCPS up with other firms with a similar acronym.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

THIS IS IMPORTANT!!
The blanket 'ignore' advice is only true in this case with this particular firm because of circumstance - they are currently suspended by their ATA, thus cannot get DVLA data.
DO NOT CONFUSE THIS WITH THE GENERAL ADVICE WHICH IS ON THE NEWBIES THREAD!
DO NOT BLANKET IGNORE PARKING 'FINES' FROM PPCs AS A GENERAL RULE!
Apologies to C-M for essentially duplicating her post with emphasis, but to paraphrase Kryten, this is so important, it was worth mentioning twice.0 -

I KNOW EXACTLY WHERE YOU MEAN INLINCOLNMY FRIEND GOT DONE THERE TOO FOR EXACTLY THE SAME REASON IN THE SAME WAY HAVING BOUGHT A TICKET - IT IS INTENTIONALLY DECEPTIVE AND SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED AS IT IS RIGHT BY THE MACHINES
BUT DO NOT APPEAL, AS THESE EXPERT GUYS SAY ,BECAUSE OF THE SUSPENSION UKCPS CANNOT get your data; they are intentionally deceptive a lot of their practice from what i can see0 -

It really is very deceptive, and like you say more than likely intentionally because people will just assume it's all part of the same car park, just as your friend and I have done.Extra savings aim for 2020 £4,000 £0/£4,000
