PCM escalated to debt recovery

My partner received a PCM whilst parked on a private road where we live. We have followed the advice about not making contact and not paying. We have not received a letter from Trace debt recovery demanding £160, if this is not paid they will take legal action. My partner is worried about the possibility of receiving a CCJ what shall we do?:mad

Where did you receive advice about not making contact with PCM?

Though at this stage you should ignore the stupid debt recovery idiots and they won't take legal action, your letter does not say that I'm sure.

    England, Wales or Scotland?

Same advice as here, ignore them - debt collectors CANNOT give you a CCJ! :

Relax but come back if you get a solicitor's letter or (rare) claim, which is defendable, not a time to pay the extortionately escalated sum demanded because even a case lost at a hearing pays less than most alarmist claims try for.

If you mean the parking firm are 'PCM' then they are beatable:

    So sit tight.

No-one will come knocking and you are not in trouble/it's not a fine/no bailiffs are possible/no CCJ can happen unless you ignore court papers (which you won't). If you move house within six years, tell the parking firm in writing and keep proof, just to stop the possibility of a claim at an old address. You need to see each letter.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Considering the OP's partner is supposed to be worried they really are not helping very much, it's like pulling teeth!
