Hi MSEs,
Would like to know anyone using online accounting services for small business ( we are a 5 person limited company with revenue just under 150K )
If so, please share information, cost, accounting setup, PAYE etc. Thanks.

There are a few around but all/most are immature products which are being developed "on the hoof" according to demand. Several are loosely based around Sage which in my mind is detrimental as whilst Sage is the most widely used, it is far from the best.
You need to watch for the licence terms - some "turn you off" if you don't renew every year meaning that you lose access to your historical data and you'd need to take paper print-outs or excel data dumps of everything before the licence stopped. You also need to think about the cost as the monthly subscription service ones quickly become very expensive - compare £10 per month for five years against the basic cost of a "lifetime" package of maybe under £100 - there is usually no need to update accounting packages with every manufacturers annual upgrade if there are no new features that you need.
A couple of recommended packages are www.winweb.com which is free and has a guarantee of lifelong access to you data, but is based on Sage, is clumsy to use and you could soon get sucked into the "payable" add-ons. Another is www.kashflow.co.uk which is simple but you need to pay a monthly subscription.
You need to be asking your accountant for their recommendations and whether it would affect their services/fees compared to your existing systems.0 -
Rather a delayed response but I would recommend www.freeagentcentral.co.uk
