npower on line accounts

I have just had a 2 hour telephone conversation with npower who have now informed me my on line account is totally inaccurate and the credit balance being displayed does not exist. They have just billed me for £411.14 which they tell me is only to correct my credit balance and bring it back to zero. Co-incidentally this figure adds up to my last combined gas and electricity bill plus my electricity usage added again. What are the odds of this being the exact amount they need to correct my account. They insist they are correct and I am not convinced at all. Any advice please as I have just spent 2 hours going around in circles, I still think they are reducing my credit balance in order that they do not have to pay me a refund as I have just changed supplier

Well you are better off going from npower anyway as the billing is shocking.
And your right is does seem suspect that it comes to exactly the same as the credit.
The only thing you can do is to go through your bills, check how many days x by standing charge then work your usage out with the meter reads and a unit to kWh web calculator.
You need some other things off your bills like calorific value to work it out.0 -
Are you sure you haven't just had your latest quarterly bill which uses up all, the credit, which is actually credit towards settling the next bill ?
If this is not the case email executive complaints and someone will be allocated to call you (not a general call centre bod.)0
