You have door frames which is the base unit. When i took mine out I was surpsied to see it is not screwed or nailed in. How does it hold the door weight then ?

Second question is you have the door fancy stuff to decorade the frame. what is it called? door lining ?

finally how do you carve out the lock and hinge positions without making a whole mess of it . it is very difficult to do it with chisel.

thanks

The door frame could have been fixed in with a grab adhesive (No Nails or similar). I would have expected it to have a few nails or screws to hold it in though.

Cutting the rebates for hinges and locks can only be done neatly with a sharp wood chisel used with care. If your chisels are blunt, then you can't expect them to cut properly.

Some would say you can use an Oscillating Multi Tool or a router to do the job, but a sharp chisel would still be needed to make the final finishing cuts.
