Morning all!
I have a bluetooth dongle which I purchased from a market a few months ago that I use to transfer photos, music etc to my Motorola V3 phone.
It all worked fine until my computer crashed, and I lost everything. when I came to re install everything, I couldn't find the disk for the dongle unfortunatly the dongle has no writing on it, just the bluetooth logo so I don't know who makes it etc. When you put it in it says please insert disk for software. does anyone know if there is a standard driver or software that I can download for it.
Many Thanks

most of the dongles Ive come accross use Blue Soleil software, free at bluesoleil.com. Have a look at the website the screen shots should look familiar0

Thanks for that, the name does ring a bell0

If not try using Windows Update. Should be able to install it using standard Windows drivers if you're install is patched up to date.0
-
Please forgive me, what do you mean by patched up to date?0
-
That you've downloaded and installed any relevant Windows updates.0

In Internet Explorer go to www.windowsupdate.com
It allows Microsoft to install patched software to fix problems. Quite often problems with Windows can be fixed by making sure you have the latest updates installed.0 -
Will this still apply after me losing everything in the first place?0
-
Try this little nifty app - Unknown Device Identifier
Might be able to pick out the make/model/chip for the dongle and go from there

Yes, you certainly need to re-download and install the latest Windows updates.
If you have problems with the online download(and the 5MB DATA limitation), I can upload the version that I have on disc.0 -
Thanks you guys, went to the bluesoleil website and all is well.0
