To be quite honest I'm 99% sure that they don't inform winners by making them click through from a "have you won" email, but there's always that nagging 1% that tells you that you could be missing out if you don't look!!

I suppose we won't know for sure until someone posts a win in IWIWIW and confirms if they were informed directly by email, or if they found out via clicking the link in the email :undecided Please let someone from MSE win one of these comps soon!

Pretty sure that if turned out that they send the actual winner a different e-mail and there was drop in the number of "winner" e-mails being opened because the forum found out then they would then probably change something so you still had to open the e-mail.

The address you get these annoying e-mails from starts with 'offers', which makes me suspect they're always going to be the offer rather than the winner notification.

I could be wrong but I imagine they'd make more of an effort to get in contact with a winner rather than just expect them to curiously click the 'find out if you've won' link.

Tells you instantly if you have won (e-mail just confirms you have won/lost as appropriate)

Becky here from vouchercloud. Thanks guys for entering our comps, I'm sorry to hear you find the new journey annoying so I wanted to explain a few thing;

Firstly, if you win you will be told via the email. Our winners are selected automatically when the competition closes and sent an email which takes them to our website & a message telling them they've won & to contact us. We will follow up on this, but if you don't get back to us within 3 working days we may choose another winner, so it is really important to check the emails from us.

Secondly we changed the email journey recently (and I'm going to be completely honest here!) because the brands we worked with prefer this option as it showcases their offers more. So while it means a few more clicks to find out if you've won it also means we can secure much better prizes. We've added a lot more high value competitions recently and will be able to do so more in the future because we've got the new journey.

If you want to enter our comps but you don't want our newsletters the best thing to do is to register and then select the "unsubscribe all" option in the settings page of your account. You'll still get the competition results email so you can find out if you've won or not, but you won't get any of our newsletters.

You have also clarified another point I was wondering as I did unsubscribe but then did wonder if I would still receive emails re any competitions I have entered.

It's a bit swings and roundabouts - these are very easy to enter but it takes a few clicks to find out if you are the winner, while some other competitions require more effort to enter but are easier to tell if you have won.

Every time I click through on one of these 'find out if you've won' emails, it takes me to a screen that says So close! Please wait a moment while we take you to the correct site, it won't take long... and then nothing happens, anyone else have the same thing?
