Current Account Sign-Up Bonus (No Switch)

Hi there
I'm trying to find a bank with a decent sign-up offer (non switch), but can't find any current accounts that offer it other than student accounts.
Are there any available to the general populace?
Had a search to see if this had been covered previously, but nothing popped up.

You could always open a "sacrificial" account for the purpose of switching.0

Yeah that's absolutely the plan, just thought I might be able to do a sneaky one and get a sign-up bonus before switching across to some of that lovely HSBC switch donation0

I have just opened up some sacrificial accounts. How quickly can I start a transfer? I don't want to jump too soon0

Yeah same- is there likely to be any credit history issue from opening loads of accounts too?0

General advice is to wait until you've received the debit card as most banks offering a switch incentive will ask you for it.
Also, if switch incentive specifies DDs on account to be switched, wait until they have paid out or at least until they appear online on the sacrificial account.0 -

Each application will show on your credit file. This shouldn't be a problem if you don't ask for any overdraft facilities. Also, its not a good idea to apply for multiple accounts if you need a mortgage or major credit facility in the next few months.0 -
Ace, thanks for the detail0

You cant find any, because the incentives offered if you switch, so open some donor accounts where you hold your main account, read the switching T&C's of the bank you want the incentive for, and make sure you qualify.
